On Tuesday 27, Moroesi Kelello Alphomina Mangoejane 45, Ndlela Shadrack Mahlaba 37, and Cornellius Grobbelaar 53, were arrested by the Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team based in Bloemfontein and appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrates' Court on the same day on charges of fraud and contravention of Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011.

It is alleged that Mangoejane, the company director together with Mahlaba and Grobbelaar, who are both independent accountants, submitted false company income tax returns to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for the tax period from July 2016 to September 2017.
As a result, SARS was prejudiced and suffered a loss to the amount of R907 294.02.

A case docket was registered and referred to the Hawks for further investigation.
The court granted each accused bail of R3000.
They are due to reappear in court on 25 September 2024 for the same charges.
