MANGAUNG MAYOR HANDOUT CHILDREN CHRISTMAS GIFTS

The Executive Mayor of Mangaung Metro Municipality Gregory Nthatisi in collaboration with the Motsepe Foundation on Thursday 31, handed out gifts to children in Mangaung as part of the event to celebrate Christmas with the people.

The MMM/Motsepe Foundation relationship was established to benefit identified children from underprivileged backgrounds and this has been an ongoing programme over the past years.

The programme had to halt at some point due to circumstances beyond the control of the MMM, such as the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Executive Mayor is elated to resume this long established partnership with the Motsepe Foundation, the Christmas with our people initiative seeks to demonstrate and share the spirit of joy, compassion and kindness to our beloved children, whom as a society is our solemn responsibility to care for.

The programme saw children from Soutpan, Wepener, Dewertsdorp, Van Stadensrus, Thaba Nchu, Botshabelo and Bloemfontein receiving their early Christmas gifts.

The mayor reiterated that they have the utmost confidence that they will be able to reach all corners of Mangaung over the coming years of the relationship.
