The African National Congress in Mangaung met at a special meeting, on Wednesday, 12 , to discuss special agenda items which amongst others included the ordinary correspondences to the regional structure.

The meeting followed the last ordinary meeting of the REC, to report on the work assigned to the officials of the region.

It reflected on the National Working Committee (NWC) visit including the engagements with the branches, the meeting recognized the discipline of the branches as demonstrated during the meeting with the NWC, however it was noted that there were elements who sought to disrupt the meeting despite the clear indication on the invitation of the RSO that the meeting was for BEC’s only.

The meeting resolved that disciplinary steps are to be undertaken against the individual(s) who were identified as having conducted themselves outside the organizational discipline.

In general the meeting acknowledged the issues raised were done so in the spirit to unite and renew the ANC.

The meeting further noted the instruction by the national structure that no BBGM’s to take place where a branch did not organise a POLEDU foundational course session, the meeting further highlighted that this also extends to the regional structure before they can hold its own regional congress.

The meeting resolved on other special items and deferred other issues to the ordinary REC meeting.

It was resolved to hold the ANC Mangaung Regional Lekgotla from 17-18 March 2025.

The lekgotla will seek to deliberate on matters of political management, governance issues, organizational work and any other issues of the ANC in the region.
