The Members of the Executive Council (EXCO) of the Free State underwent an induction at OR Tambo House in Bloemfontein, on Wednesday 03.

The induction aimed at fostering a culture of ethical leadership, accountability, professionalism, and excellence.

It aligns with the Ministerial handbook, which mandates that Executive Members undergo preparatory programs to equip them for their roles and responsibilities. This initiative seeks to enhance EXCO members' understanding of their functions and improve their ability to collaborate effectively with state institutions and private entities within legal frameworks and policy guidelines.

During the program, EXCO members received comprehensive presentations from various institutions, covering crucial aspects such as their roles in relation to Accounting Officers, compliance with financial management laws and policies, security protocols, and their responsibilities as primary communicators within their departments.

Presentations were delivered by various institutions, Public Service Commission,

South African Revenue Service (SARS), Government Communications Information Systems (GCIS), South African Police Service, South African State Security Agency, Protection and Security Services, and Auditor General (AG).

This induction is pivotal in preparing EXCO members to effectively fulfill their duties and uphold the highest standards of governance and service delivery.
