The Free State is the proud host of the upcoming Bafana Bafana game against Zimbabwe scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday 11, at the Toyota Free State Stadium.

The game will kickoff at 18h00.

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, together with Mangaung Metro Municipality, have entered into a Host Partner Agreement with the South African Football Association (SAFA) for the Metro to host this historic match.

It is worth noting that the Bafana Bafana played in the Free State was during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

It is further worth noting that Bafana Bafana played their opening World Cup game on the 11th of June 2010.

This period is therefore of significant value in the history of our football in the country. On the 11th of June 2010 FNB stadium was full to capacity and it should be the collective spirit of Free Staters to repeat the same experience and honour our national team on the 11th of June 2024.

The decision for the Free State Province to host this game is in tandem with the province’s aim to create a positive destination image increase the international and national tourism footprint in the province; promote a sustainable economic development trajectory and job creation as well as enhancement of social cohesion amongst other objectives.

The department encourages Free Staters to attend this match in large numbers to support our national team for a decisive victory.

Free State province will also get an opportunity to witness their born players, we are also delighted that Free State born players are part of the national squad selected to play Mothobi Mvala; Teboho Mokoena and Thapelo Morena.

Tickets are available at Ticket Pro; Free State Stadium; PostNet and all Spar outlets.
