The Executive Council of the Free State Provincial Government led by, Premier Dukwana Mxolisi is on a mission to correct past mistakes and uplift the lives of the people of the province.

Accompanied by MEC for CoGTA and Human Settlements, Ketso Makume, Premier Dukwana officially kickstarted the project in Bloemfontein, the city of roses on Tuesday 30.

Premier Dukwana has been tirelessly working to change the current state of affairs and recognizing health as a fundamental human right.

To achieve this goal the premier initiated the long-awaited asbestos removal project.

The project had been intended to better the lives of many Free State residents for years, but it was mired in allegations of corruption and malfeasance which halted the process.

However, the premiers visit marks a turning point as beneficiaries of the project rejoice. Asbestos, a severe health hazard, poses a significant risk to the well-being of individuals, potentially leading to long term chronic illnesses to those who are exposed to it.

The implementation of the asbestos removal project signifies the government's commitment not only to preserving good health but also to restoring the dignity of the people in the province.

Over 34 households are undergoing the removal of Asbestos roofs, with new roofs being installed in their place.

It was noted that many more across the province will undergo a similar process.

The project is set to benefit hundreds of households across the five districts of the province.

Furthermore, in a demonstration of the government's dedication to empowering communities, Premier Dukwana officially openly newly built houses in Hillside View and also handed over 477 title deeds to members of the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality community in Bloemfontein.

Through initiatives like the Asbestos Removal project and the distribution of title deeds, Premier Dukwana and his administration are taking concrete steps towards rectifying injustices of the past, promoting health and dignity, and creating opportunities for meaningful change in the lives of Free State residents.
